Aid in Teaching Intubation

Trainees intubate while an instructor observes the camera feed in real time, enabling immediate feedback and safer supervised practice for RRTs, paramedics, and military medics.

Monitor Tube Position

Continuously confirm correct placement during transport and throughout ICU stay — eliminating uncertainty during patient movement or repositioning.

Reduce Routine Chest X-Rays

Visual confirmation of tube position can lessen the need for frequent chest X-rays in the ICU, reducing radiation exposure and workflow burden. A recorded image is legally sufficient.

Suction Only When Secretions Are Visible

Coughing during suctioning raises intracranial pressure (ICP) — visualization limits unnecessary passes and reduces patient discomfort.

Selective Bronchial Suctioning

A graduated J-shaped suction catheter selectively clears the left or right main-stem bronchus under direct visualization.

Additional Uses

Targeted Secretion Mobilization

Inject fluid only where visibly needed, aimed at a bleb of thick secretion rather than blindly. Blind injection during suctioning is a recognized contributor to ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). For very thick secretions (e.g. alveolar proteinosis), use acetylcysteine injection or nebulization under direct visualization.

Rapid Bleeding Assessment

Quickly observe bronchial bleeding or bleeding after procedures. If bleeding is massive, a bronchial blocker can isolate the bleed to one lung while the other is ventilated.

Broncho-Pleural Fistula Management

In cases of massive pneumothorax with a broncho-pleural fistula, a bronchial blocker can be used to reduce loss of ventilation flow through the fistula.

ICU Bedside Procedure Monitoring

Monitor bedside tracheostomy and other ENT procedures directly, in real time, with the ET-View Cook Kit.

Further Clinical Uses

Assist in teaching bronchoscopy — trainer sees the bronchoscope in view.

Difficult or nasal intubation.

Detection of smoke-inhalation severity in patients rescued from fire.

Monitor integrity of tracheal anastomosis after lung transplant.

Veterinary applications (e.g. intubation of swine).
